Mr. Tom Frye

Tom was not only an exceptional drama teacher at Southeast, providing both the history of theater and the dramatic arts, but also developing fine actors and technical pre-professionals as well. Several of my classmates went on to become both professional actors and technicians in the media of film, stage and television.

He taught discipline, never accepting mediocrity as an excuse for a poor performance. He was a true Patriot, and included the values of what it was to be an American in his teachings before it was viewed as being politically incorrect .

I really didn’t appreciate his teachings until long after I attended Southeast. It was after that time, that I could look back and really appreciate my learnings from Mr. Frye, and it is what helps me be a better man today.
